Mendota Heights Implements Speed Camera Pilot to Enhance Road Safety

Mendota Heights, Minnesota, has become a participant in a statewide initiative introducing speed cameras aimed at encouraging drivers to reduce their speeds without the need for frequent traffic stops. Situated near Two Rivers High School, a particular street corner features cold beverages and persuasive sales representatives, employing an innovative approach to promote cautious driving. Catherine and Lauren Novak have adopted this tactic to remind motorists to slow down, especially to protect nearby children. "I advise children to stay away from the streets because passing vehicles can be intimidating and dangerous," Catherine Novak explained.
