Drug agents seized more than $72,000 worth of jewelry — including a custom “Money Man” diamond pendant — from a West Michigan resident at the center of a sprawling, alleged conspiracy during an investigation that also involved raiding Muskegon Heights City Hall, The Detroit News has learned.
The $72,205 seizure by U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents was revealed in federal court records Sept. 21 that show investigators confiscated gold rings, a diamond band, a gold byzantine chain, watches by Bulova and Michael Kors, and a gold diamond engagement ring during a raid at accused drug kingpin Javon Brewer’s home in Muskegon Heights. Agents also seized $21,286 in cash and a 2024 Toyota Tundra from Brewer, records show.
Investigators disclosed the haul six days after federal prosecutors indicted a fourth man in connection with an alleged conspiracy to distribute drugs. Felon Demario Lance Matthews, 41, of Muskegon was charged with drug and gun crimes that could send him to prison for at least 10 years and up to life.
