Millikin men’s soccer defeats Rockford 4-0 on Senior Day

The Millikin University men's soccer team secured a 4-0 victory over Rockford University at Frank M. Lindsay Field in Decatur, honoring the Class of 2027 on Sept. 19. With this win, the Big Blue improved their record to 3-3-1, while Rockford dropped to 3-3-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Senior Bryce Davis opened the scoring for Millikin in the 18th minute with a goal assisted by fellow senior Olav Kaldahl. Kaldahl nearly added another goal shortly after but hit the top woodwork. Senior Aaron Zoellner started as goalkeeper for Millikin and made two saves during the first half, helping his team maintain a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
In the second half, Aidan Welch assisted Mikkel Opdahl for his first goal of the season, extending Millikin's lead to 2-0. Five minutes later, Welch provided another assist to Aquiles Yibirin, who scored to make it 3-0. Matthew Hart scored his second goal of the season in the 67th minute with an assist from Arthur Medina, sealing Millikin's second shutout win of the year at 4-0.
