Minnesota Announces 2025 Deer Hunting Regulations and License Sales Begin August 1

Minnesota hunters can now access the 2025 deer hunting regulations and begin purchasing their licenses starting August 1st. Detailed information on deer permit areas and digital copies of the regulations are available online at the DNR's deer hunting webpage, mndnr.gov/hunting/deer. Physical copies will be sold at license vendors beginning mid-August, with translated versions in Hmong, Karen, Somali, and Spanish expected online by mid-September. Paul Burr, acting coordinator for the big game program, emphasized the excitement surrounding the upcoming season, encouraging hunters to thoroughly review the new regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. A significant update for this season is the introduction of a single statewide firearms deer license, replacing the previous B season license. This new license covers both the regular firearms season and the late southeast B season, simplifying the licensing process and reducing confusion—especially in areas where the CWD management zone has expanded.
