Minnesota's Top Prospect Nolen Anderson Commits to Gophers for College
Minnesota's top basketball talent, Nolen Anderson, has chosen to stay local for his college career, committing to the University of Minnesota under new head coach Niko Medved. The 6-foot-7 wing player from Wayzata High School expressed confidence in the Gophers' program, citing the team's culture and coaching staff's genuine interest as key factors in his decision. Anderson, ranked as the third-best prospect in Minnesota and the 56th small forward nationally, showcased his skills last season with Eden Prairie High School and during summer tournaments with D1 Minnesota on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit. His impressive junior year included an average of 17.5 points per game, notably scoring 24 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the state championship victory. Several programs, including Drake, Virginia Tech, and Northern Iowa, also pursued Anderson, but his affinity for Minnesota's style of play and coaching ultimately led him to commit to his home state school. This decision marks a significant step for Anderson as he prepares to enter his senior year, continuing his development as a promising young athlete in college basketball.
