A St. Louis couple who previously gained national attention after displaying firearms to defend their property against Black Lives Matter protesters in 2020 has successfully recovered their confiscated firearms following a prolonged legal battle. Mark and Patricia McCloskey, both attorneys, became widely known after they brandished guns when protesters allegedly trespassed on their estate, breaking through a gate and disregarding a "no trespassing" sign.
After a series of legal proceedings—including three lawsuits and multiple appeals—the McCloskeys announced they have reclaimed their AR-15 rifle. Mark McCloskey shared a video on social media showing himself retrieving the weapon, expressing pride in defending their home amid political and media scrutiny.
Patricia McCloskey is also expected to receive her Bryco .380 pistol next week. The AR-15 had been held by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police, while the Sheriff's Department retains the handgun.
