PLEASANT HILL — Missouri State Parks is inviting the public to a ribbon cutting celebrating the completion of the Ted and Pat Jones Bridge at Rock Island Trail in Pleasant Hill.
The new bridge links the Pleasant Hill trailhead directly to Rock Island Trail. This eliminates a former road detour and brings Missouri one step closer to connecting the park to Jackson County's trail system.
The project broke ground in April 2023. Missouri State Parks says the Joneses "shared a vision for a seamless cross-state trail system connecting Missouri’s two major metropolitan areas." The Ted Jones Trust fully funded the new Pleasant Hill structure.
