MITCHELL — Jennifer Warren was at a Noah Kahan concert in the Twin Cities with her daughter when she got an unexpected call.
It was from the Minnesota Twins, inviting her to throw out a ceremonial first pitch as the winner of a MyTwins rewards sweepstakes. A loyal Twins fan of more than four decades, the Mitchell resident described the opportunity as a bucket-list item.

Originally from Brentford, South Dakota, Warren attended her first Twins game at age 8 with her parents in 1986. On Sept. 2, 40 years on from that experience, Warren walked out to the Target Field pitcher’s mound and delivered a right-handed strike ahead of the Twins’ game against the Detroit Tigers in front of 13,770 fans.
“To be able to go down on the field and be out on the pitcher’s mound, that's a pretty cool experience,” Warren said. “Twelve-year-old me would have thought that was the coolest thing in the world.”
Warren’s first-pitch outing marked her fourth Twins game of 2026. She tries to attend at least a couple per season. She also keeps up with daily games on the MLB Ballpark app, which helped her accumulate more than 2,000 MyTwins reward points. She cashed in those points to enter a sweepst...
