MITCHELL — Curbs are in and streetscapes are almost ready for asphalt paving at the North Ohlman Street roadway project.
The infrastructure project along North Ohlman Street includes Mitchell’s first roundabout, with concrete already installed at the West 23rd Avenue intersection. The roundabout remains closed at this time.

Public Works Director Joe Schroeder told the Mitchell Republic he expects North Ohlman Street and the roundabout to be opened on the same timeline.
“Everything's still weather dependent this time of year. You know, I don't think anyone was expecting for it to rain for two weeks straight,” Schroeder said.
According to Mitchell Public Works Engineering Supervisor Terry Johnson, the center of the roundabout will be grass. Signage and some trafficway painting are left for the project.
“They might look at some landscaping down the road,” Johnson said.
After final gravel grading, the pavement project is expected to take three to four days and start the second week of October.
The North Ohlman Street roadway, from West 23rd Avenue to Kemper Avenue, was removed and replaced with new streetscape, sewer, water and storm drains.
