Launched on June 5, 2024, Wilmore and fellow astronaut Suni Williams experienced this extended stay, returning aboard a SpaceX Dragon capsule on March 18.
Passion for Exploration
Expressing his lifelong passion for exploration, Wilmore stated in a NASA press release, "From my earliest days, I have been captivated by the marvels of creation, looking upward with insatiable curiosity. This curiosity propelled me into the skies and eventually to space, where the magnificence of the cosmos reflected the glory of its creator in ways words can scarcely convey."
