A new video captures the events leading up to the forcible removal of a passenger from a United Airlines flight on Sunday. The airline had informed passengers that four individuals needed to disembark to accommodate crew members. Among those asked to leave was Dr. David Dao, an Asian-American physician who explained to airport security that he needed to remain onboard to attend to patients the following day. In the footage, Dao states, "I'm a physician and I have to work tomorrow at 8 o'clock," as security personnel attempt to persuade him to deplane. Despite their efforts, Dao refuses to leave his seat, asserting, "I won't go. I'm staying right here," and warning that he would be physically removed. Subsequently, security officers drag Dao off the aircraft, resulting in injuries and disorientation. United Airlines' CEO, Oscar Munoz, initially described Dao as "disruptive" and "belligerent" but later issued an apology, expressing regret over the incident and the forcible removal.
