Nine artists featured in ‘Colores de la Vida’ exhibit

For “Colores de la Vida” on the premises of Equinoxio, Calle Tarqui 9-61 y Gran Colombia, doors open on Thursday, September 17 at 6 p.m. The exhibit by nine Cuenca artists runs until October 30. Located in a grand colonial building with a high reaching atrium, eight artists and one ceramist will create a tapestry of accomplishments for us to admire and purchase. Wine and snacks will be available at no charge.
For the past two years, Equinoxio has offered Spanish programs and cultural experiences. Peruvian artists Alberto Soriano and his wife Maite Eusebio recently set up their private studio spaces on its ground floor.
Alberto has remarked about his art, “You will find memories from my birthplace in Cusco intermixed with spirituality and devotion. My brushstrokes are nostalgic windows that follow the cobblestone streets of my youth.”
Now, Alberto and Maite have invited fellow Cuenca artists to jointly exhibit their art in the “Colores de la Vida” show while offering an evening of community. Alberto’s startling oil paintings and watercolors along with Maite’s portraits, landscapes and Andean scenes will appear...
