NMDC Steel Limited has announced a significant change in its board of directors with the appointment of Shri Vinod Kumar Tripathi as the Government Director. This appointment, communicated by the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, was made official on 12th October 2026 and is effective immediately. Shri Tripathi succeeds Shri Abhijit Narendra, the former Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Steel.
The appointment of Shri Vinod Kumar Tripathi, who holds a Director Identification Number (DIN) 10711675, is in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The order confirming his appointment notes that he will serve as the Government Director on the NMDC Steel Limited board until further orders.
Shri Vinod Kumar Tripathi is currently a Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Steel and brings extensive experience to his new role. He is a Civil Engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee and belongs to the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE – 1995).
