The Northern Nash High School girls’ golf team slipped to fourth place in the team standings in the third Big East 5A/6A Conference match of the season, played on Wednesday at Wedgewood Golf Course in Wilson.
The Knights amassed a team score of 167, trailing winner Fike (121), C.B. Aycock (159) and Hunt (165). They were third as a team in Monday’s match.
Southern Wayne (184) and Southern Nash (185) rounded out the team standings.
In the individual results, NN junior Hayley Moss improved her standing from Monday by taking fifth place with a nine-hole round of 50 (14-over par).
Junior Pier Rochelle was the next Lady Knight to finish, as she carded a 58 – good enough for a tie with Hunt’s Cobie Godsell for 14th place overall.
Senior Londyn Askew tied for 16th overall with a round of 59, while freshman Emma Matthews was tied for 18th with Leila Gonzalez of Southern Nash and Camden Sullivan of Southern Wayne (each carded a 60).
Northern Nash freshman Monica Jerrell was 21st with a 61.
In addition to Gonzalez, Southern Nash junior Peyton Horne was tied for 22nd with a 62 along with the Southern Wayne trio of Dakota Edwards, Julia Cox and Kenzie Johnson.
