NTPC Limited has announced that its subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has commenced commercial operations for two wind energy projects in Gujarat. This development was disclosed in filings submitted to the National Stock Exchange of India.
The disclosure by NGEL states that the commercial operation for the fourth part capacity of the Vanki Wind Energy Project in Nakhatrana, Kutch has been declared. This section amounts to a capacity of 6.3 megawatts (MW). Additionally, the first part capacity of the Jamjodhpur Wind Energy Project in Jamnagar, amounting to 50.4 MW, has also begun operation. Both projects are part of the larger 1050 MW wind component under the 500 MW REMCL RTC Project. The commercial operations for these projects were declared effective from midnight on 22nd September 2026.
With these additions, NTPC Group's total installed capacity has now reached 91,221 MW, while the commercial capacity stands at 90,141 MW. NTPC Limited continues to strengthen its renewable energy portfolio, enhancing its efforts towards sustainable energy solutions.
