Obituary: Robert W. Semian, a lifelong resident of East Mountain, peacefully passed away on July 31 at Allied Hospice. He is survived by his wife, Marcella (Marci) Balon Semian. Born in Taylor to the late Steve and Helen Semian, Robert graduated from Taylor High School in 1957 and served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam War. He retired from Trane Corporation after many years of service and enjoyed assisting anglers at One Stop Bait Shop during his retirement. A passionate Penn State supporter, Robert cherished summers at Paupackan Lake with his family. He leaves behind his three sons—Scott (and wife Colleen), Rick (and wife Laurie), and Kevin—his two sisters, Patricia Przywara and Dorothy Steenback, and three grandchildren: Zachary (with Meredith), Bailey (with Matthew), and Scott. He was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen. The family requests donations be made to the Broome County Humane Society in lieu of flowers. A viewing will be held on August 5 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Semian Funeral Home in Taylor, with a blessing service led by Rev. Ginger Daubendauser.
