Obituary: William Guy "Bill" Harvey, 81, Veteran and Family Man

William Guy "Bill" Harvey, aged 81, of Muncie, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025. Born on April 6, 1944, in Leominster, Massachusetts, he was the son of Harold H. Harvey and Jacqueline Metivier Bleeks. Raised in Altona, Indiana, Bill graduated from Garrett High School in 1962 before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. He served honorably during the Vietnam War and retired from active duty in 1983. Following his military service, he earned a degree from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Bill is survived by his wife, Nancy Rhue Harvey; his four sons—William (Lori), David (Tammy), Patrick (Dana), and Shawn (Jani); his sister, Trudy Judsen; eleven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan K. Fetter, as well as his siblings Harold H. Harvey, Diane Wallace, Robert P. Hall, and William Bleeks. A private interment will be held at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton, Pennsylvania, at the family's convenience. Memorial donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Wounded Warriors Project, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
