OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Supreme Court has decided not to delay the enforcement of the state's updated social studies curriculum for the upcoming academic year. A coalition of 33 parents, faith leaders, and educators had filed a lawsuit on July 1, seeking to block the new standards implemented by Superintendent Ryan Walters and the Oklahoma State Board of Education. The lawsuit challenged the curriculum guidelines that determine the topics to be taught in public schools. Despite the legal challenge, the court has opted to proceed with the standards' implementation, allowing schools to prepare according to the revised curriculum for the new school year.
