Crash With Injuries
On 9/16/2026, at approximately 9:13 AM, the Jo Daviess County Dispatch Center received a call reporting a traffic crash with injuries at Thunder Bay Rd and Settler Ln in rural Galena, IL.
Upon arrival, Deputies learned that Steven Cloyes, 80 of Walnut Creek, CA, was travelling west on Thunder Bay Rd. As Steven approached the intersection of Thunder Bay Rd and Colony Ct, it is believed that he experienced a medical emergency. Steven lost control of the vehicle, drove into the ditch on the south side of the roadway, and struck a tree.
