An open house took place Sept. 8 for the 2026 update of the Wildwood Master Plan.
The city's charter requires the plan to be reviewed and updated every 10 years. It was last completed in 2016.
City staff was on hand to answer questions from those in attendance.
The master plan establishes a framework for residential, institutional and commercial development; provides for safe and functional roads and bridges; and outlines policies that preserve and protect the environment.
It also establishes types and densities of land use for each parcel of ground in the city under the land use map.
Following the open house, a public hearing was held by the Planning & Zoning Commission (P&Z) .
Joe Vujnich, director of planning and parks, said the citizen oversight group that updated the master plan consisted of 23 members, including P&Z commissioners, eight citizens and two city council liaisons.
At the group's meeting Aug. 25, a motion was approved to accept the final draft of the plan and forward it to P&Z.
