Otsego is doing an environmental review of a proposed multiphase development that would add more than 400 new homes, including senior dwellings, to the city’s housing stock.
The Quaday Avenue Mixed-Use Development, proposed by Darkenwald Corp., would also bring 60,000 square feet of commercial space and a 34,000-square-foot memory care facility to a 137-acre site just west of Highway 101 and north and south of 75th Street Northeast, according to an Environmental Assessment Worksheet released last week.
Included in the plans are 122 single-family detached houses, 32 single-family attached homes, and 277 multifamily units. A senior campus with 32 townhomes and 47 apartments, including assisted living, is part of the multifamily mix.
The developer also proposes a 34,000-square-foot memory care facility, along with commercial uses that include a “small grocer, a drive-through fast food-style restaurant, and a medium-sized convenience store and gas station with underground storage tanks.”
