Opened in 1926, Panerai is celebrating a century of its original boutique in Florence with two special-edition Luminor timepieces. A nod to its military heritage and its roots in Florence, the Luminor Firenze 8 Giorni PAM01734 and PAM01794 take their inspiration from the 6152/1 from the 1960s and revive details such as the inscription at 12 o’clock and the PAM01734 features parallel grooves cut into the inner sides of the crown protecting bridge.
The grooves were designed to make it easier for divers to wind the watch in scenarios such as wearing gloves, under pressure, or in low-visibility environments. Available with a circular brushed green dial with gold-effect hands or a brushed black dial, the 44mm watch comes in polished steel (left) or Platinumtech (right).
The Platinumtech model is fitted to a black calf Tuscan leather strap and includes an additional green rubber strap while the polished steel variant has a dark brown calf Tuscan leather strap and includes an additional black rubber strap. Both watches are powered by the hand-wound P.5000 calibre, which features a Glucydur balance, an Incabloc Parechoc anti-shock device, and a power reserve of 8 days (192 hours).
