Paramount settlement rumors spark pretty profoundly pissed-off Block The Merger response

Spurred by reporting from The Wall Street Journal and Reuters that the two sides were now in “advanced talks” that could possibly resolve before the weekend was out, pretty much all of the major Hollywood trades have taken it as gospel that some kind of conclusion to the matter might soon be reached. (With some reports pointing to the idea that Paramount’s David Ellison could be willing to continue running Paramount and Warner Bros. as two separate companies, rather than immediately jamming them both together, as a compromise both sides feel like they could live with.)
