In September, Sotheby's will showcase the remarkable personal collection of Pauline Karpidas, a renowned patron and art connoisseur, featuring an impressive array of Surrealist artworks and furniture that decorated her distinctive London residence. Central to the sale is one of the most comprehensive Surrealist collections assembled in recent times, initiated by Pauline's encounter with pioneering gallerist Alexander Iolas, which reignited her passion for collecting. Over the years, she acquired pieces from significant auctions and collections, including those of Edward James, William N.
