Yoga can be a relaxing way to unwind, but adding a few playful puppies to the mix makes for a different kind of experience.
Sacred Energy Yoga partnered with the ANNA Shelter for its Paws and Poses event on Sunday afternoon. Attendees enjoyed a gentle-flow yoga session while getting the chance to play with puppies from the shelter.
The event was held at Sacred Energy Yoga on East 38th Street. The goal of the event was to introduce people to the practice of yoga while supporting a good cause and helping shelter animals connect with potential adopters.
Another animal-themed yoga session is already in the works.
"it's been around with incorporating animals into yoga, and so I have a house full of animals myself that join into my personal sessions and just thought it would be something fun to do and help the shelter" said Mary Lou Dreisbach, the Sacred Energy Owner
Sacred Energy Yoga plans to host Purrs and Poses on November 15, featuring cats from Orphan Angels Cat Sanctuary.
