Pender Senior Legion Baseball Advances in State Tournament with Key Victory SUTTON – The Pender Senior Legion baseball team posted a 1-1 record over the weekend at the Class C State Championships held in Sutton. In their opening game on Saturday, Pender held a 4-0 lead but was overtaken by St. Paul in the seventh inning, falling 5-4. Starting pitcher Tyler Olson pitched 4.2 innings, allowing just two hits and two walks, with five strikeouts, and contributed offensively with a hit and two RBIs. Ross Tremayne and Owen Kneifl also contributed offensively with hits. On Sunday, Pender rebounded strongly, securing a 13-5 victory over Hartington in an elimination game. Trevor Trimble started on the mound, pitching three innings with only one hit allowed and four strikeouts. Offensively, Owen Kneifl, Braylong Wegner, and Trimble each recorded two hits, with Olson adding a hit and two RBIs. With this win, Pender advances to face Sutton in another elimination game scheduled for Monday at 4:00 PM.
