For years the Penn State Nittany Lions have been looking for their next truly elite wide receiver that can change their passing attack. Three weeks into the 2026 season and they seemingly have found their answer.
That player is Koby Howard.

Howard’s most recent performance came against Buffalo, so it has to be taken with a grain of salt, but his consistency is what’s noticeable.
When it comes to Howard, he can create separation, track the football well down the field and make difficult contested catches. Due to his ability to win in numerous ways he allows Penn State to have him lineup all of the formation.
The physicality and speed of Howard has been noticeable, and has led to him emerging as Rocco Becht’s top target with 12 receptions for 344 yards and two touchdowns. As long as he continues on this trajectory he can continue to emerge into one of the most explosive receivers in college football.
