Peotone Community Unit School District 207U Recorded 124 Disciplinary Actions in 2023-24 Academic Year
Steven Isoye, Chairperson of the Illinois State Board of Education, reported that during the 2023-24 school year, Peotone District 207U documented a total of 124 disciplinary incidents, averaging approximately 9.7 events per 100 enrolled students. The majority of in-school suspensions with specified reasons involved incidents of non-physical violence, totaling nine cases, alongside three tobacco-related violations. Additionally, 60 cases fell under unspecified or other reasons.
Disciplinary actions involving male students accounted for 96 incidents, while female students were involved in 28. Of all suspensions, 51 targeted elementary and middle school pupils, with 73 affecting high school students. Out-of-school suspensions were primarily due to violence resulting in physical injury, with nine reported cases, and 30 incidents classified as other reasons.
