DULUTH — After a closure of many months, motorists can now use part of the intersection of 26th Avenue East and London Road.
According to
the Minnesota Department of Transportation's website,
the new roundabout opened on Tuesday with access to three legs of traffic.

Under the current configuration, vehicles traveling south on London Road can navigate through the roundabout to access 26th Avenue East, London Road, and southbound Interstate 35. Additionally, traffic coming from 26th Avenue East toward Lake Superior will reopen, allowing drivers to access London Road and southbound I-35. However, according to MnDOT’s website, traffic going north on London Road remains closed at the roundabout, and northbound I-35 traffic will continue using the current bypass, meaning those vehicles cannot yet access 26th Avenue East.
Nearby, traffic remains impacted north of 40th Avenue East as London Road is only open to northbound travel. Motorists going south are detoured onto Superior Street to 40th Ave East. The southbound truck detour has traffic continue on Superior Street to 21st Avenue East.
