Pokémon’s 30th anniversary celebrations are getting a sizeable new centrepiece. As Polygon reports, Game Freak has revealed cover art for an official three-volume art-book collection, due to arrive in Japan on 18th December 2026. Across 1,500 full-colour pages, the books will trace the series from ‘Pokémon Red’, ‘Blue’ and ‘Green’ through to ‘Pokémon Legends: Z-A’.
The collection will gather classic illustrations, pixel art, 3D artwork and promotional images, charting the many visual forms Pokémon has taken across its history. It is a wide enough brief to make room for sprites, glossy character art and the series’ newer 3D worlds, rather than treating its evolution as one neat, uniform house style.
