Jordan Tannahill's play, "Prince Faggot," which recently concluded its extended run at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater, is scheduled to make a comeback this fall at Studio Seaview. Under the direction of Shayok Misha Chowdhury (known for "Public Obscenities"), performances will take place from September 11 to October 26.
The production features a diverse cast including Rachel Crowl (known for "Between Two Knees"), K. Todd Freeman ("Downstate"), David Greenspan ("Marie Antoinette"), Mihir Kumar ("Law and Order: SVU"), John McCrea ("Cabaret"), N’yomi Allure Stewart ("A Raisin in the Sun"), and Tyrone Mitchell Henderson ("The Skin of Our Teeth"), with Henderson performing until September 26 before Freeman returns following his directing duties for Rajiv Joseph's "Mr. Wolf" at Steppenwolf Theatre.
Described as a "meta-theatrical tragicomedy," the play explores themes of gender and community through a queer ensemble imagining a monarch from their own community.
