Pulaski County to Conduct Building Inspections for Earthquake Preparedness

Pulaski County, Illinois, is set to undertake building inspections during the week of August 18 to bolster earthquake preparedness across the region. Officials from the Pulaski County Emergency Services and Disaster Agency (ESDA/EMA) teamed up with the Central United States Earthquake Consortium (CUSEC) to evaluate the exteriors of key structures, including schools, government offices, and emergency shelters. Funded through a federal grant, the collected data will be analyzed, documented, and shared with federal, state, and local agencies to enhance emergency response strategies and community safety measures.
