Qatar Ports Experience 64% Growth in Cargo Handling During July
Qatar's ports experienced a remarkable surge in cargo operations last month, with a 64% increase in general and bulk cargo volumes compared to June 2025, according to Mwani Qatar. The ports collectively managed over 234,000 tonnes of cargo in July 2025, highlighting Qatar's expanding role as a key regional logistics hub. Operational sectors also saw notable growth: building materials increased by 105%, livestock imports grew by 86%, roll-on/roll-off (RORO) cargo rose by 30%, and vessel arrivals grew by 16%. Hamad Port, Qatar's primary maritime gateway, continues to be vital for the nation's trade and supply chain resilience. In July, QTerminals reported handling 116,379 TEUs and receiving 151 ships. The port also processed 12,699 RORO vehicles, with total RORO cargo reaching 226,522 freight tonnes, alongside bulk cargo of 148,501 F/T and break bulk of 65,899 F/T.
