The numbers from the 2020 census data shows population numbers are dipping across the state. Major cities like Shreveport and New Orleans have seen folks leaving, but the decline is equally pronounced in the state's smallest villages. Several small communities have fewer than 200 residents. This includes Bienville and Edgefield.

As the oldest settlement in the Louisiana Purchase, Natchitoches is one of the most charming towns in the state. It has such beauty and I love front street which includes brick pavement. And the views along the Cane River are pretty amazing. And of course Natchitoches is famous for its meat pies and the huge Christmas festival.
