The hosts continued to push for the winning goal after the break. Their pressure eventually paid off in the 79th minute when Gonçalo Ramos completed the comeback.
The striker's goal added to his growing importance for the national team. Ramos has now reached three goals in the Nations League, giving Portugal another reliable option in the final third.
The victory was not without late drama. Francisco Conceição was shown a red card in the 86th minute, leaving Portugal to defend their narrow advantage with 10 men.
