RANDOLPH COUNTY — One year after the Randolph County School System approved a contract extension and a 2.5% pay raise for Superintendent Stephen Gainey, the Randolph County Board of Education on Sept. 21 once again lengthened its agreement with the longtime official.
Following Gainey’s annual evaluation, his contract was extended the maximum time permitted by law, through June 30, 2030. The board voted unanimously to extend his contract by one year, which will make it a four-year pact between the school system and the superintendent.
