UK-based Fuse Diagnostics has raised £1 million to accelerate commercialisation of its Flip molecular testing platform and expand manufacturing at its Cambridge headquarters. The funding, led by The FSE Group with participation from existing and new angel investors including Cambridge Capital Group, will also support assay development and validation with industry partners.
Fuse is developing rapid molecular tests for pathogens and contaminants across several sectors, including plant agriculture. Its approach is intended to provide laboratory-quality molecular testing without the specialist equipment and infrastructure normally associated with centralised laboratories.
"This funding marks an important step in commercialising our Flip product platform and validating new assays with strategic partners across sectors where rapid, decentralised testing can make a meaningful difference," says Dr Harry Lamble, CEO of Fuse Diagnostics.
