Rasmus Hojlund has managed to fall at the centre of controversy for Napoli this weekend, just a few months into his permanent spell at the club.
The striker, who made the switch to Naples on a permanent basis this summer following an initial loan spell, has been trusted to lead Napoli’s line by manager Massimiliano Allegri.
That decision has proved valuable with the 23-year-old scoring twice in six Serie A games whilst others around him, including former Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, have also contributed in attack.
It was in Napoli’s latest game against Frosinone where Hojlund and De Bruyne came head-to-head, though, with an incident in the game.
With the match, and its three points, crucial in ensuring that Allegri’s side continue on an upward trajectory, Napoli were given a penalty in the 29th minute.
Hojlund initially stepped up to take the penalty, although that was saved by Frosinone goalkeeper Lorenzo Palmisani.
Just as it looked like Napoli had wasted their chance to go ahead, VAR ordered that the penalty be retaken due to an encroachment inside the penalty area during the taking of the spot kick.
