Reflections on Time: A Soul's Contemplation

Contemplating the passage of time invites us to consider the unthinkable. We observe the ground beneath us spinning, feeling weighed down more than uplifted. What's in your red cup—have you reached your limit? The sounds of a beer can opening echo like a distant scream. Perhaps a truth serum could liberate us. Running on empty, we know our supplies will eventually deplete. Was this weekend what you envisioned? I promised to stay with you until your drink is finished. But perhaps three is better than two. You can count on me as a friend; I'll do what's right. Yet, I wonder if I truly know what that is—perhaps only time will reveal the best course for both of us. As the sun sets and stars emerge, you cling to what's in your red cup, calling it love. I possess only time, and for me, that is enough.
