High in the Hollywood hills, the Griffith Observatory overlooks the city of Los Angeles as an emblem of cinematic history and scientific discovery. A world-class educational and entertainment landmark, the observatory is known for its appearances in classic films and its long-standing role in bringing astronomy closer to the public. The Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon Theater is a 190-seat auditorium hosting public programs, presentations, and panels every day to explore the latest in science and astronomy.
The theatre's existing sound system was becoming increasingly difficult to manage. Reflections off the projection screen and paneled walls caused unpleasant microphone feedback. The Griffith Observatory Foundation called on audiovisual technology specialist Solotech and consultant TheatreDNA, who recommended Renkus-Heinz as the ideal loudspeaker solution for the space.
