Authorities in Jamestown apprehended two individuals following the discovery of children living under severely neglectful circumstances. The incident unfolded early Tuesday morning when police responded to a disturbance at 522 West Sixth Street around 1:00 a.m.
Details of the Investigation
An investigation revealed that 32-year-old Ethan Crichton and 36-year-old Christine Weise allegedly permitted a 14-year-old, a 13-year-old, and a 10-year-old to reside in an environment marked by severe filth and hazards. The residence contained mold in the kitchen area and refrigerator, along with large amounts of human and animal waste scattered across all rooms, including on the walls.
Legal Actions and Child Safety Measures
Both adults were detained and transported to the local jail. The affected children were removed from the residence, and Child Protective Services was notified to ensure their safety.
Charges and Custody Status
Crichton and Weise face multiple charges of endangering the welfare of a child and remain in custody pending their court arraignment.
