The Mountain Home City Council unanimously accepted the resignation of Ward 3 Councilmember Philip Frame, who is leaving the area for a new job in northwest Arkansas. The Council will choose his replacement at its Oct. 15 council meeting.
Frame served on the council a little less than two years, and his resignation required the council to formally declare the Ward 3 seat vacant before appointing someone to fill the position. The resolution accepting Frame’s resignation also declared his council seat to be vacant with a replacement to be chosen at the council’s next meeting.
City Clerk Scott Liles explained the council is required to declare the position vacant before appointing a replacement.
Nayor Hilley Adams accepted applications through Friday, Oct. 9, for those who wish to fill the vacancy. Council members will receive a list of applicants and are required by law to appoint a successor at its Oct. 15, meeting.
“He is leaving for the right reasons and is a great move for him,” Adams stated. “Hopefully there will be an applicant you will want to appoint to this position for Ward 3.”
