District 3 City Councilwoman Jennie Robinson won reelection to a fourth term Tuesday night.
Robinson defeated businesswoman Liliana Peinder in the runoff in the race to represent south Huntsville on the City Council. Robinson, who currently serves as council president, has represented the district since 2014. She previously represented the district on the Huntsville City School Board.
The race was tight throughout much of the night with Robinson receiving 3,773 votes (52.35%) to Peinder's 3,434 (47.65%). The vote totals are unofficial.
Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement "I'm grateful to be looking at another four years to serve," Robinson said. "I'm going to get some sleep and then go to work.
Robinson said the runoff was an opportunity the community to take a look at candidates and "choose the candidate that reflected their own vision."
"What I'm looking at right now is there are obviously some folks who have a different vision than I do," she said. "We need to find out what that vision is and figure out how to reach out into the community and meet those needs and bring them on board."
