Just as Kansas City Royals supporters began to settle with Hunter Harvey, a vital reliever, rejoining the pitching staff and contributing crucial innings, the veteran right-hander has once again been sidelined due to injury. The team announced on Monday, prior to their game against the Washington Nationals, that Harvey would be placed on the 15-day injured list with a right adductor strain. To fill his spot, the Royals will promote promising pitching prospect Luinder Avila from Omaha.
Harvey's Injury History and Recent Performance
This marks the second time this season Harvey has been placed on the IL. Earlier, he spent over three months recovering from a right teres major strain sustained in mid-April, returning to the mound on July 25.
