The Livingston Mayors Wellness Campaign is offering a free “Safe@Home” program to help prepare students in fourth through sixth grades to stay safely at home alone. The program will be held on Thursday, Oct. 15, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Livingston Senior/Community Center, in Tahaney Room 1 on the lower level.
According to a press release sent by the Livingston Health Department, “Safe@Home” is a 90-minute lesson developed by Safe Sitter, a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching youth life and safety skills for when they are home alone or babysitting. The course teaches students in fourth through sixth grades how to handle potential unsafe situations and weather emergencies when home alone, and how to assess and respond to illnesses and injuries.
