As a team, the Bears shot a first round team score of 20-over, 308 and are in 20th place in a strong field of six top 30 teams in the country. No. 2 USC set a new single-round scoring record at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic as well as a team scoring record for a single round with a score of 22-under, 266. The Trojans lead the field by 11 strokes.
Salama's round of 72 is her lowest 18-hole score so far this season. Her round consisted of a team high five birdies with a run of three birdies over four holes on No. 11, 12, and 14.
