Salas led DBU to a team victory at the Gerald Richey Invitational, finishing third overall with a time of 17:30.3. Just 800 meters into the 5K, Salas found herself running alone behind UTA's top runners but well ahead of the remainder of the field. Without another runner to work with, she maintained her pace throughout the race before fending off a late challenge from Anete Randma of East Texas A&M to secure third place. Salas last competed in cross country in 2024, qualifying as an individual for the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships. After missing the 2025 season due to injury, Salas returned to competition with a strong performance and will look to continue her pursuit of another trip to the national stage when DBU returns to action at the Chili Pepper Festival on Saturday, October 3.
