Salisbury Civitan Club Seeks Nominations for Hero Award Recognizing Extraordinary Acts of Courage

The Salisbury Civitan Club is inviting nominations for its annual Ernest Curtis Hero Award, which honors local residents who have demonstrated exceptional bravery and selfless service through spontaneous acts of courage. This award specifically recognitions individuals whose heroic actions go beyond their usual duties, such as law enforcement officers, firefighters, or other professionals exposed to dangerous situations. To nominate someone, submit a letter detailing the nominee's heroic deeds—please avoid including their name in the letter itself. Accompany it with a cover sheet containing the nominee's and your contact information, including phone number. Nominations are due by August 21 and can be delivered to any Salisbury Civitan member, mailed to the club's address at 104 Dandridge Place, Salisbury, NC 28144, or emailed to [email protected]. The award will be presented in September. The award was established by long-standing Civitan member Ernest Curtis, inspired by the heroism displayed by rescue workers and civilians after September 11, 2001.
