Saratoga Potato Chips, LLC has voluntarily recalled specific lots of J. HIGGS Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Chips after discovering the products may contain undeclared soy, a major allergen.
Consumers with a soy allergy or severe sensitivity could face a serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reaction if the affected products are consumed.
The recall involves 7.75-ounce packages of J. HIGGS Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Chips with UPC code 0-51933-31645-4 and "Best if USED BY" dates of DEC 11 26 and DEC 18 26.
The affected products were distributed in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, and Maryland and sold through Save A Lot stores.
According to the company, the issue was identified during an internal review, prompting the recall as a precautionary measure. No illnesses or injuries related to the recalled products have been reported to date.
Consumers who purchased the affected chips are advised to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
