A man from Scranton was accused of threatening another individual and firing two shots into the air outside a Turkey Hill convenience store on Mulberry Street Saturday night. According to police reports, 23-year-old Jeffrey Warren drew a firearm and aimed it at someone during a heated argument around 9 p.m. Witnesses observed two men arguing before Warren pulled a gun from his waistband, pressed it to the other man's face, and then fired two rounds upward after being separated by a third party. Following the incident, Warren, accompanied by a 17-year-old girl identified as his girlfriend, walked towards Prospect Avenue.
A Dunmore police officer spotted two individuals matching Warren and the teen's descriptions. Warren attempted to flee on foot after adjusting an object in his waistband, resisting arrest and trying to spit on the officer. Authorities recovered Warren's clothing and the firearm—a registered Glock 380—in the vicinity of North Irving Avenue. Shell casings were also found near the Turkey Hill parking lot. Surveillance footage from a nearby city camera captured the event.
